M.N.A Hazim Shafii's Portfolio

The picture shows me in the middle of a street at Jonker Walk, Malacca for our TITAS assignment to study the evolution and history of some of Malaysian's famous traditional cuisines.

The famous A'Famosa fortress was built by Afonso de Albuquerque when the Portuguese successfully colonised Malacca somewhere around 1511.

The plaque reads: The only remaining part of the ancient fortress of Malacca built by Alfonso D'Albuquerque and by him named Famosa. 1511. Near this stood the bastion of Santiago.

The picture shows a slightly modern rickshaw with a passenger at the street of Jonker Walk. Rickshaw is more commonly known as Beca in Malaysia.

The picture shows the interior of a famous restaurant in Jonker Walk known as Jonker 88 restaurant that serves authentic Baba Nyonya cuisines.
